Why Use a tail bag?
Keeping the tail in a tail bag stops the unnesessary damage to
the tail and promotes hair growth.  Daily combing of the tail
pulls the hair out from the root preventing the tail from
becoming thick and reaching it's natural length.  If your horse
is in a fenced area and stands near the fence, just the act of
swishing it's tail up against the fence can constantly damage
the ends of the tail and stall the tail growth process.  The tail
bags (even the fleece ones) do not soak up "leave in"
conditioners such as Cowboy Magic or Mane and Tail.  Even
after two weeks the tail will still feel soft and smell freshly
washed.
